About Us

Multi-sensory tutors

My name is Hayley and I am the Creator of the DOBI Reading Program.  I am finishing up a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Simon Fraser University with a double minor in Educational Psychology and Learning and Development Disabilities. I am a certified Orton-Gillingham (OG) practitioner and have completed both the Barton Reading & Spelling Program and the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program as a student. I love kids, dogs, snowboarding, and sushi.

I have a diagnosed learning disability traditionally known as Dyslexia.

I developed the DOBI Reading Program through a lived experience of growing up with Dyslexia, knowing that I was smart, but not necessarily always feeling it or being able to show it in the traditional school system. DOBI was born out of a passion to help students with various learning styles navigate their way and be successful in a school system where, regardless of all their other gifts, reading ability is foundational to the curriculum and synonymous with academic success. Most importantly, I wanted to help students embrace their unique learning style and discover strategies that boost their self-confidence and subsequently allow their abilities to shine.

Multi-sensory tutoring

A reading intervention that individually supports the development of confident, independent, and life-long readers who have literacy skills that match or exceed grade level proficiency.

Through a multi-sensory, self-paced approach, students are taught a range of strategies to enhance their literary skills in a way that resonates with their individual learning style.

Students show progress towards measurable outcomes and achieve sustainable success that translates into academic flourishing and above all, enhanced self confidence.

"At DOBI, our mission is help as many students reach their reading potential as possible."
