Specialized Reading and Dyslexia Tutoring in Langley

Hello, my name is Hailey! I am the manager and head tutor for our Langley location of DOBI. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and human services from TWU. I’ve been passionate about teaching for as long as I can remember and I absolutely love working at DOBI because I get to individualize my lessons to help each kid learn in a way that makes sense for their brain. Getting to know my students also brings me a lot of joy! Outside of tutoring, you can find me camping, reffing ringette games, playing ultimate, or nerding out about linguistics and how language works!

Hello! I’m Katie, and I’ve been tutoring with DOBI for a  year. I’m completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology and value our flexible approach to supporting diverse learners. I meet each student where they’re at, using games, stories, and personalized tools to make learning engaging. I love connecting with kids and sharing in their interests—whether it’s Star Wars, Pokémon, sports, or music—and I enjoy bringing creativity and playfulness into every lesson.

My name is Ella and I am in my last year of my undergrad studying psychology at university. I plan to graduate and go to school for my masters. I love working at DOBI and helping kids to learn and read in different ways. I enjoy making connections with new people and being able to learn from them. In my free time I love to be in nature or I like to crochet!

My name is Francesca! I graduated with Psychology & Human Services at TWU in 2022. I’ve always had a passion for working with young children — I worked as a Behavioural Interventionist for 2 years before working with DOBI. I was one of the OG employees when DOBI was starting up, then I left to do a 15-month ministry training program across the US & Europe, and now I’m back! My hobbies include: hiking, photography, traveling, and finding cafes that serve quality matcha lattes!

Hello! My name is Caimbrya, and I am currently in my third year at the University of the Fraser Valley, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As a tutor, l focus on creating a positive, encouraging environment where every child feels seen, supported and capable of success. Having had a reading tutor myself growing up, I know firsthand how much of a difference the right guidance can make. I am excited to now have the privilege to support students on their own reading journeys with our personalized approaches here at DOBI.

My name is Catherine Aniezue, and I am a reading tutor at DOBI. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Emory University and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Victoria (UVic). I am passionate about supporting students in reaching their academic goals and developing the skills they need to thrive. I believe that every student has unique strengths and talents, and that successful learning happens when students feel valued, supported, and confident in their abilities. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, watching movies and TV shows, and creating fun stories while playing The Sims.

My name is Arianna and I am currently a student at Simon Fraser University, where I am completing my Bachelor’s degree in English with the goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. During my time here at the Dobi Reading Program I have been given the opportunity to support children who learn in diverse ways. This role is particularly meaningful to me, as I experienced similar challenges in my own learning when I was younger. Being able to connect with students and help build their confidence has been incredibly rewarding alongside reflective towards my own learning capabilities.
Outside of work and academics, I enjoy creative activities such as painting and singing, which allow me to express myself and bring creativity into my approach to teaching and learning.
