DOBI Reading Program: Our Method
Training - Structured Literacy & Orton-Gillingham Tutoring
Our tutors receive training rooted in the principles of structured literacy and multisensory instruction. This includes components of Orton-Gillingham, the Barton Reading & Spelling System, and other explicit, research-supported methods proven effective for dyslexia and other reading challenges.
Dyslexia, Autism, and Other Learning Disabilities
Our team offers targeted dyslexia tutoring and individualized reading support for children with autism and other learning disabilities. Using a multisensory, structured literacy approach, we teach skills step-by-step to help students strengthen phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence. This method is highly effective for learners who benefit from routine, hands-on activities, and direct, systematic instruction.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide high-quality, multisensory structured literacy tutoring that empowers children with dyslexia, autism, and other learning disabilities to become confident readers. We are committed to helping as many students as we can across Calgary by delivering research-based instruction that strengthens foundational literacy skills and supports long-term success.
